Job Description

Do you know how to do more than run the machine? We are seeking an experienced CNC and laser professional who understands how programming, setup, blueprints, materials, and machine processes come together to produce the right part. This is a hands-on position for someone who knows Mastercam and has the machining experience to program, set up, operate, troubleshoot, and take ownership of the laser cutting process. Your current title might be Laser Programmer, CNC Laser Operator, Laser Technician, CNC Programmer, CNC Machinist, Fabrication Technician, or Manufacturing Technician. We care more about what you know how to do than your current title. What You'll Do
  • Program, set up, and operate CNC laser cutting equipment.
  • Develop and modify CNC programs using Mastercam.
  • Apply Mastercam knowledge involving 3D and multi-axis programming.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, measurements, and job travelers.
  • Operate rollers, brake presses, machine polishers, and other fabrication equipment.
  • Troubleshoot programming, setup, machining, and production problems.
  • Work with Project Managers, Drafters, the Shop Foreman, and Team Leads to ensure accuracy and successful completion of jobs.
  • Understand current machine and production processes and identify opportunities to improve results.
  • Manage material inventory associated with assigned equipment.
  • Maintain clean, organized machines and work areas. What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of machining experience.
  • At least 1 year of proficient Mastercam experience.
  • CNC programming and machine setup experience.
  • Experience with laser cutting or related CNC equipment.
  • Strong blueprint reading and measurement skills.
  • Knowledge of 3D and multi-axis programming.
  • SolidWorks knowledge.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and work independently.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with production, engineering, drafting, and shop leadership.
  • Completion of a machining program from an accredited trade school.
More Than a Machine Operator This position is a good fit for someone who wants responsibility for more than loading material and running an existing program. You will be involved in programming, setup, troubleshooting, fabrication, and producing the finished part. You will also have the opportunity to use your judgment and machining knowledge to solve problems and keep work moving. If you're currently a CNC Programmer, CNC Machinist, Laser Programmer, Fabrication Technician, or experienced CNC Laser Operator with Mastercam experience, your background could translate well into this position. Physical Requirements The position requires regular work in a manufacturing environment, including moving throughout the department, handling parts, stooping or kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
