Job Title:
Aircraft Parts Finisher Job Description This role focuses on finishing aircraft cabinets and components to a high aesthetic and functional standard by applying advanced detailing, wet sanding, buffing, and marine-style finishing techniques. You will use your experience in automotive and marine finishing to prepare, refine, and polish aircraft parts so they meet strict aerospace quality requirements. Responsibilities Finish aircraft cabinets and parts using professional wet sanding, buffing, and polishing techniques. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, masking, and properly prepping components prior to finishing. Apply automotive and marine-style detailing methods to achieve a smooth, high-quality finish on aerospace components. Inspect parts during and after finishing to ensure they meet quality and appearance standards. Use appropriate tools and materials for sanding, buffing, and detailing in a safe and efficient manner. Follow DOT safety-sensitive requirements and shop safety procedures at all times. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including managing dust and debris in a shop environment that may not be fully climate controlled. Collaborate with team members and leads to prioritize work, meet production schedules, and resolve finishing issues as they arise. Essential Skills Proven experience with car detailing, including surface preparation and finishing. Hands-on experience with wet sanding techniques for high-quality surface refinement. Proficiency in buffing and polishing to achieve a smooth, uniform finish. Ability to perform marine or boat finishing work, including working with curved and complex surfaces. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finished parts. Capability to work safely and effectively in a DOT safety-sensitive aerospace environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in the boat or marine industry is preferred. Experience in marine, automotive, or similar finishing environments is highly beneficial. Familiarity with aerospace components or aviation industry work is an advantage. Comfort working with various finishing tools, compounds, and materials commonly used in automotive and marine detailing. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in an aerospace component shop designated as DOT safety sensitive. The environment can be dusty at times and is not fully climate controlled, so you should be comfortable working in varying temperatures and conditions. You will work around aircraft parts, finishing equipment, and standard shop tools, following safety procedures and guidelines appropriate for an aerospace facility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lawrenceville, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
