Painter Overview:
Join our team as a Painter and bring color to our structural steel pieces, coating and painting surfaces with precision and attention to detail! Your role is crucial in ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and durability according to SSPC specifications. Safety is paramount in this position, highlighting the critical importance of your expertise in maintaining a secure environment for yourself, your coworkers, and the public. $17- 20hr
- hourly rate based on experience/skills
Paid WEEKLY Painter Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Painter will be responsible coating/painting the appropriate surface of structural steel pieces in accordance with SSPC specifications. Receives finished material from shop, prepares surface for coating and sets up paint equipment in order to paint a maximum amount of pieces in the most efficient manner. Gathers needed materials and specifications according to the applicable department prints. Loads finished pieces on trailers for shipping. Responsible for adhering to all company safety and OSHA regulations. The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required. Perform non-essential duties as needed.Painter Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years' commercial painting experience with basic knowledge of Structural Steel Fabrication operations preferred. Must be able to understand paint code systems. Must be familiar with paint equipment and different coatings. Should have some knowledge of how to operate a forklift and overhead crane. Must have airless experience. Experience using zinc and epoxy is required. Must be able to read a tape measure and work in fractions.Painter Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds. Job requires excessive amounts of climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, crawling and stooping, etc. Exposed to extreme temperatures. Must be able to tolerate loud noises. This role is classified as safety sensitive . Candidates must show the capacity to proactively initiate, effectively lead, and consistently uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
