Job Description

Overview We are seeking an experienced Industrial Painter to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate has experience preparing, mixing, and applying industrial coatings to a wide variety of components used in aerospace and other precision manufacturing industries. This position requires attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to consistently produce high-quality finishes while meeting production schedules. This is not an entry-level position - we are seeking candidates with a strong background in industrial or manufacturing painting who can contribute immediately with little training. Responsibilities Prepare metal and composite parts for painting through cleaning, masking, sanding, and surface preparation. Mix primers, paints, and specialty coatings according to manufacturer specifications and work instructions. Apply coatings using HVLP spray guns and other application equipment to achieve required thickness and finish quality. Paint components ranging from small precision parts to large fabricated assemblies. Inspect completed work for coating quality, coverage, defects, and compliance with customer specifications. Maintain paint booths, spray equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition. Follow all safety procedures for handling paints, solvents, and hazardous materials. Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and coating specifications. Accurately document production and quality records. Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to meet customer expectations and delivery schedules. Qualifications & Skills Minimum 3 years of industrial painting experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or a related industry. Experience mixing two-part epoxies, urethanes, primers, and specialty industrial coatings. Proficient with HVLP spray equipment and industrial paint systems. Knowledge of proper surface preparation techniques and masking methods. Ability to identify and correct common paint defects such as runs, orange peel, fisheyes, dry spray, and inadequate coverage. Experience painting parts of varying sizes, geometries, and production volumes. Ability to read blueprints, work instructions, and technical specifications. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. Forklift, overhead crane, or respirator certification is a plus. Preferred Qualifications Aerospace manufacturing experience. Familiarity with Mil-Spec, FAA, or customer-specific coating requirements. Experience working within AS9100 or
ISO 9001
quality systems. Knowledge of paint thickness measurement equipment and quality inspection processes.
