This role is focused primarily on cleaning, preparing, masking, and handling aircraft components throughout the repair and refinishing process. The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in their work, has a strong work ethic, pays attention to detail, and understands the importance of following procedures in an aviation repair environment. Previous aviation, painting, or MRO experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to train the right person who is dependable, willing to learn, and committed to doing quality work. This position is primarily focused on component preparation rather than painting. The technician will work closely with experienced technicians and painters to ensure components are properly prepared and ready for the next step in the approved repair or finishing process.

Responsibilities:

Clean aircraft components using approved methods and procedures. Prepare components for painting, coating, inspection, repair, or other processing. Remove dirt, grease, residue, and other contaminants from component surfaces. Perform preparation activities such as sanding, scuffing, masking, taping, and other surface-preparation tasks as required. Inspect components for cleanliness, damage, imperfections, or other conditions that may need to be brought to the attention of a supervisor or technician. Properly rack, hang, position, and handle components to support the repair and refinishing process. Safely move components between designated work areas. Assist experienced painters and technicians with preparing components and maintaining an organized workflow. Follow approved work instructions, procedures, specifications, and safety requirements. Maintain accurate identification and proper handling of components throughout the repair process. Keep work areas, tools, racks, carts, and equipment clean and organized. Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE). Follow company safety procedures and applicable OSHA requirements for the handling and storage of chemicals and materials. Learn additional preparation and finishing processes as training and experience increase. Perform other duties related to component preparation and finishing as assigned.

Ability to maintain focus and quality while performing repetitive or detailed work. Ability to safely lift, carry, and position components as required. High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous experience in aviation, MRO, painting, automotive, manufacturing, fabrication, or other hands-on work is a plus, but not required.

Pay:

$17.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
