Scenic Artist El Segundo, CA Position:

Model Builder / Scenic Artist (Contract through a third-party staffing agency)

Primary Responsibilities:

Prep and paint props, scenery, and display items Work from detailed drawings for: Photo shoots Commercials Trade show environments Complete projects within budget and tight deadlines in a fast-paced shop Mix custom paint colors in a timely fashion Use HVLP spray guns Create a variety of faux finishes

Required Skills:

Strong painting experience with advanced knowledge of painting materials and scenic techniques Proficiency in using paint treatments to accurately depict light, shadow, depth Ability to interpret construction drawings & execute builds Ability to select, mix, and apply paints professionally Experience with HVLP spray equipment Ability to work quickly while maintaining quality Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Demonstrates initiative, works independently & collaborates effectively as part of a team Follows shop safety protocols & contributes to overall shop upkeep

Preferred Qualifications:

Theatrical, film, or television scenic painting experience Automotive paint experience Foam sculpting Diorama building/painting Mural painting Backdrop painting

Technical Skills:

Surface preparation and finishing of wood, foam, plastics, and metal Bondo (body filler) application, sanding, shaping, filling, and paint-ready surface preparation Spray gun operation, custom paint mixing, and faux finishing techniques

Other Details:
