In these energetic roles, you will support the painting, coating, and finishing of metal components, ensuring high-quality standards are met with precision and safety. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in industrial painting, materials handling, and surface preparation while working in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment. Your contributions will help us deliver durable, visually appealing products that meet rigorous quality expectations. Responsibilities Metal Processing Associate Operate anodizing tanks, rectifiers, and related processing equipment Prepare parts for anodizing, including cleaning, etching, and masking, racking Load, monitor, and unload parts through each stage of the anodizing process Control and monitor chemical bath conditions (temperature, concentration, timing) Perform basic quality checks during and after anodizing Ensure coating thickness, color, and finish meet specifications Maintain accurate production and process logs Identify and report equipment or process issues to supervisors Follow all safety procedures when handling chemicals and industrial equipment Clean and maintain anodizing lines, tanks, and work areas Painter Assistant Associate Performs minor manual touchup of primers and topcoats using paintbrush or similar tool Place and remove masking materials on parts Mix and prep paint for painters Effectively detail and sand parts to be painted Perform setup of parts following written instructions from work order Apply part identification to details and assemblies using stencils, rubber stamps, inkjet and tags Verify part counts against work order Ability to visually identify defects in parts regarding finishes, physical damage and part identification Meet all of AXL's company policies; including safety and quality system requirements Maintain a clean and safe work environment Perform work that meets performance and delivery requirements Meet company productivity standards Follow communicated job priority instructions Communicate production delays and problems to appropriate supervision Support all members of AXL to achieve company, departmental, and personal goals and objectives Requirements Prior experience or familiarity with warehouse environments, aerospace industry, or anodize Basic knowledge in using hand tools and power tools Ability to lift heavy parts(up to 50 lbs) and work in a face pace and at times loud or hot environment Basic understanding of chemical awareness handling along with safety protocols Strong commitment to safety protocol adherence, including PPE use and respiratory protection measures. Ability to interpret production documents accurately and follow detailed instructions diligently.
