Responsibilities Lead painting projects from surface preparation to finishing, ensuring timely completion and quality standards are met. Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and project specifications to determine scope of work and required materials. Prepare surfaces thoroughly by cleaning, sanding, caulking, plastering, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Apply coatings using various techniques including brush painting, roller painting, spray painting (conventional and construction spray), and the use of paint sprayers. Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, scaffolding, and other equipment safely while adhering to all safety regulations and protocols. Select appropriate paints and coatings based on color theory principles and project requirements; perform visual color comparisons for consistency. Manage safety procedures diligently by using respiratory protection equipment and following safety protocol adherence on all construction sites. Maintain detailed records of work progress, materials used, safety inspections, and project documentation for accountability. Skills Extensive experience in residential painting as well as commercial construction painting projects. Strong knowledge of construction estimating processes for accurate project planning and resource allocation. Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and construction documents. Skilled in surface preparation techniques including caulking, plastering, sanding, and cleaning surfaces before painting. Expertise in applying various coatings with brush, roller, spray guns (including conventional spraying), and other application methods. Familiarity with color theory concepts for effective visual matching and aesthetic results. Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, scaffolding equipment safely on construction sites. Knowledge of safety regulations related to construction painting environments; experienced with respiratory protection protocols. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to coverage areas, material quantities, and project estimates. Experience with fixture installation or handyman tasks related to remodeling or renovation projects is a plus.
