We're an award-winning team of industry professionals dedicated to turning client visions into reality — and we're looking for a detail-oriented, motivated spray painter who takes pride in quality work, from prep to final finish. Job Overview We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Spray Painter to join our production team. In this role, you'll apply high-quality finishes to a wide range of sign and architectural components, ensuring every piece meets our rigorous standards for appearance and durability. We use two industry-standard paint systems — Matthews Paint and AkzoNobel (Akzo) — so you'll have the opportunity to work across both. Auto body spray painters and recent auto paint & collision program graduates are encouraged to apply; we'll train the right candidate on our specific systems and substrates. This is a full-time position with opportunities for overtime (40+ hours/week). Standard hours are 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, with some flexibility for the right person. Responsibilities Read and interpret production artwork and technical drawings, including specs and color callouts Prepare, clean, sand, and mask parts before painting to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality; perform minor bodywork as needed Mix and match paint colors using formulas within our Matthews and Akzo paint systems, using basic math skills to achieve accurate color matches Apply undercoats, primers, and topcoats to a variety of substrates (aluminum, steel, acrylic, and more) using spray guns and related equipment, maintaining consistent coverage and a smooth finish Apply paint masks and tape for multi-color applications Identify and resolve finish defects (runs, sags, overspray, etc.) and implement corrective action Maintain a clean, organized workspace, including spray booths, mixing areas, and staging zones Care for equipment and maintain accurate electronic records of formulas and completed jobs Follow all company procedures, safety standards, and inventory practices Support cross-training and assist other departments as needed Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and complete an OSHA respiratory evaluation and fit test Requirements Experience with high-quality urethane finishes is required Experience with the Matthews or Akzo paint systems is a strong plus — we use both systems in-house and will train on whichever you haven't used Auto body spray painters and recent auto paint & collision program graduates are encouraged to apply Previous experience in the sign industry is a bonus Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, and related equipment Knowledge of safety regulations related to paints, chemicals, PPE use, and safe lifting techniques Basic math skills for mixing paints and measuring components accurately Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality Clear communication skills, both verbal and digital Basic computer skills (email, printing, file management, web navigation) Positive, team-oriented attitude and dependable transportation Why Work With Us We offer competitive wages, great benefits, and a positive team atmosphere.
