GED Full Job Description SUMMARY:
The Surface Treatments Prep Technician II is responsible for preparing parts and components for surface treatment processes such as plasma spraying, paint, or blending. The role involves surface cleaning, masking, and inspecting parts to ensure they meet industry and company standards before treatment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Perform surface preparation on aerospace parts, including cleaning, masking, and other pre-treatment processes. Interpret and follow work instructions, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure proper surface preparation. Apply masking materials as required to protect surfaces from treatment processes. Inspect parts to ensure they meet quality and technical specifications prior to treatment. Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and machinery used in surface preparation. Collaborate with surface treatment teams to ensure parts are prepped and ready treatment. Record and document work completed in accordance with company standards. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to surface preparation processes. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent. 2 years of experience in surface preparation or a related field. Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and specifications. Familiarity with surface treatment processes (plasma, paint, blend). Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with precision. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
3+ years previous masking experience. Experience in aerospace, manufacturing, or related industry. OTHER (INCLUDE
LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, SECURITY CLEARANCE, TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS, ETC.
