Job Description Industrial Painter
SHIFTS ARE FIRST, SECOND AND WEEKEND SHIFT. 10 HOUR DAYS
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Painter to prepare and paint metal, steel, and aluminum components and equipment in a manufacturing or industrial environment. This position is responsible for properly preparing surfaces and applying industrial coatings to ensure a durable, high-quality finish. Responsibilities Prepare steel, aluminum, and other metal surfaces for painting. Clean and degrease surfaces to remove dirt, oil, rust, scale, and other contaminants. Sand, grind, scrape, and wire-brush metal surfaces as required. Mask and protect areas that are not to be painted. Mix paints, primers, coatings, and thinners according to manufacturer specifications. Apply primer, paint, and protective industrial coatings to metal components. Operate spray guns and other industrial painting equipment. Apply coatings evenly while maintaining proper coverage and thickness. Perform touch-ups and correct surface or finish imperfections. Inspect completed work for runs, overspray, missed areas, poor adhesion, or other defects. Properly prepare different materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum , based on coating requirements. Maintain and clean spray guns, hoses, paint equipment, and work areas. Follow safety procedures for handling paints, solvents, coatings, and other chemicals. Properly use required PPE, including respirators when applicable. Maintain a clean and organized paint preparation and spray area. Follow production schedules, work instructions, and quality standards. Qualifications Previous industrial painting or metal finishing experience preferred. Experience preparing and painting steel and aluminum strongly preferred. Knowledge of surface preparation, primers, paints, and industrial coatings. Experience using spray guns and industrial paint equipment preferred. Ability to use grinders, sanders, wire wheels, and other surface-preparation tools. Ability to recognize proper surface preparation and finished-coating quality. Ability to follow safety procedures and wear required PPE. Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, and work in physically demanding positions. Ability to lift and handle materials and equipment as required. Work Environment This position is performed in an industrial/manufacturing environment and may involve exposure to paint fumes, dust, solvents, noise, and varying temperatures. Employees must follow all safety requirements and use appropriate PPE at all times.
