FLSA Classification:
Hourly (Non-Exempt) The Aircraft Detailer is responsible for ensuring that aircraft are meticulously cleaned, buffed, and maintained to meet the highest standards of luxury, safety, and presentation. This role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to preserving the integrity and appearance of high-value assets. Knowledge of aviation industry is a plus.
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities Interior Cleaning and Detailing:
Clean and sanitize aircraft cabins, including seating, carpets, tables, and storage compartments. Polish and condition leather, wood, and other premium surfaces. Clean and restock galleys, lavatories, and storage areas as needed.
Exterior Cleaning and Detailing:
Wash and buff aircraft exteriors, including fuselage, wings, tail, landing gear, and windows. Remove stains, grease, and debris while ensuring no damage to delicate surfaces. Apply protective coatings to maintain aircraft appearance and protect surfaces.
Maintenance Support:
Inspect aircraft for damage or irregularities during the detailing process and report findings to appropriate personnel.
Compliance and Safety:
Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Follow environmental regulations for the disposal of cleaning chemicals and waste. Maintain detailed records of work performed, including cleaning schedules and product usage.
Customer Service and Presentation:
Work with supervisors to meet specific detailing requirements. Ensure aircraft is presented impeccably for inspections, charters, or personal use. Review work accomplished with supervisor and/or aircraft management to ensure all work has been completed and approved by leadership. Additional Job Functions Inspect aircraft for cleanliness, damage, and staging and ensure the safety of the pilot and passengers by making sure that no cleaning materials or other items are left in, on, or around the aircraft before the crew leaves the job site. Ensure that you represent the company in a professional manner and are always dressed for safety and professionalism. Re-stock company vehicles as needed and/or provide list of supplies needed to supervisor. Clean and detail corporate fleet, equipment and trailers as directed. Other job functions as directed. Qualifications Previous experience in aircraft detailing, automotive detailing, or a related field is preferred. Skills Exceptional attention to detail and thoroughness. Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, tools, and processes for both interior and exterior detailing. Ability to safely operate equipment, such as buffers and scissor lifts. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, bend, climb, and lift heavy equipment for extended periods. Comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights as needed.
Additional Requirements Availability:
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.
Transportation:
Reliable means to travel to various job sites or hangars.
