Job Description
Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Painter to join our dynamic construction and renovation team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying paint, coatings, and finishes to a variety of surfaces across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Your expertise will help transform spaces, enhance structural integrity, and ensure high-quality results that meet safety and aesthetic standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, develop your skills in surface preparation and finishing techniques, and contribute to the beautification and preservation of buildings. Responsibilities Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, caulking, plastering, and applying primers to ensure optimal adhesion and durability. Use hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including airless spray systems), brushes, rollers, and conventional spray equipment to apply coatings efficiently and evenly. Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and construction plans to determine project scope and specific painting requirements. Perform construction site surface preparation tasks such as masonry work, stucco application, concrete finishing, and fixture installation to ensure surfaces are ready for painting or coating. Execute various types of painting including residential painting, commercial painting, industrial coating applications, structural painting, restoration projects, and renovation work. Follow safety regulations diligently by wearing respiratory protection, adhering to safety protocols on-site, and maintaining a clean work environment to prevent accidents. Collaborate with carpenters, masons, drywall installers, and other tradespeople to coordinate project timelines and ensure seamless completion of tasks. Accurately interpret technical drawings and schematics for precise application of paints and coatings according to project specifications. Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, safety inspections conducted, and project progress updates. Experience Proven experience in construction painting or related fields with a strong understanding of surface preparation techniques. Familiarity with residential painting projects as well as commercial or industrial coating applications. Skilled in using hand tools such as caulking guns, brushes, rollers; power tools including sanders and airless sprayers; ladder use; scaffolding; and other equipment necessary for high-quality finishes. Knowledge of color theory for selecting appropriate hues and finishes that meet client specifications. Ability to interpret technical drawings like blueprints or schematics accurately. Experience working on construction sites with adherence to safety regulations including respiratory protection protocols. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to paint quantities or surface areas. Additional skills such as carpentry (trim carpentry), plastering, masonry work or welding are a plus but not required.
