Automotive Paint Prepper Company Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Automotive Paint Prepper to join our dynamic team. Position Overview:
As an Automotive Paint Prepper, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of the automotive painting process. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare Bronco surfaces for painting by meticulously cleaning, masking, priming and sand/block them. Your attention to detail and precision will contribute to the overall appearance and durability of the finished product.
Key Responsibilities:
Surface Preparation:
Thoroughly clean vehicle surfaces to remove dirt, grease, and other contaminants that could affect paint adhesion. Use sanding equipment to smooth out imperfections, rust spots, and old paint, ensuring a clean and uniform surface for painting.
Masking and Taping:
Apply masking tape and paper to cover areas of the vehicle not to be painted, such as windows, trim, and other sensitive components. Ensure precise and tight seals to prevent overspray and maintain clean paint lines.
Priming:
Apply primer coatings to prepared surfaces to enhance adhesion and promote an even paint finish. Use spray guns or brushes to apply primers evenly and consistently across the vehicle's surface.
Blocking:
Block panels and other Surfaces by hand to meet High quality standards. Perform high-end surface preparation for automotive paint, including sanding, blocking, feather-edging, and final prep
Surface Repair:
Identify and address any minor surface imperfections or damage before painting, using fillers, putties, or caulks as necessary. Ensure that repaired areas blend seamlessly with the surrounding surfaces for a professional finish.
Quality Control:
Inspect prepared surfaces for cleanliness, smoothness, and adherence to quality standards. Correct any deficiencies or imperfections identified during the inspection process before proceeding to the painting stage.
Safety Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines when handling chemicals, tools, and equipment. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, goggles, and gloves, to minimize exposure to hazardous materials.
Skills and Qualifications:
Previous experience in automotive painting or surface preparation preferred. Proficiency in using sanding equipment, masking tools, and paint application techniques. Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship. Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members. Knowledge of safety procedures and willingness to adhere to safety guidelines rigorously.
Education and Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent. Certification or training in automotive refinishing, surface preparation, or related fields may be advantageous.
