Position Overview:
Straubes is seeking a skilled and dedicated Aircraft Painter to join our team. The Aircraft Painter will be responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing the surfaces of aircraft, ensuring a smooth, high-quality, and durable finish. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of industry standards, and experience with various types of paints and coatings used in aviation.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare aircraft surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and priming as needed. Apply coatings, paints, and finishes to aircraft using spray guns, rollers, and brushes. Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and regulations during all painting processes. Inspect painted surfaces for defects, such as bubbles, streaks, or inconsistencies, and make necessary corrections. Operate specialized tools and equipment, including air compressors and spray booths, to complete painting projects. Collaborate with other team members to complete projects on time and according to specifications. Maintain and clean painting equipment to ensure its proper functionality. Follow all safety and environmental regulations regarding the use of paints and chemicals. Keep accurate records of materials used and paint jobs completed. Assist in managing the inventory of painting supplies and materials.
Required Qualifications:
4 years minimum experience. High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience in aircraft painting or related fields (such as automotive or industrial painting). Strong knowledge of aviation painting techniques, materials, and safety standards. Ability to work with precision and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Ability to lift and carry materials and tools, standing for extended periods. Experience with hazardous material handling and adherence to safety guidelines. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to read and follow technical drawings and specifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in aircraft painting or related fields. Familiarity with specific coatings and paint systems used in the aviation industry. Previous experience working in a maintenance or repair facility.
Working Conditions:
Full-time, on-site position. Requires standing, bending, and lifting during most of the workday. Exposure to paint fumes, chemicals, and high noise levels; safety equipment will be provided. Ability to work in various weather conditions if working outdoors or in hangars.
