Job Overview The Paint Department Technician is responsible for maintaining the paint kitchens in an organized and functional state to consistently support the painting operations, and to participate in the maintenance of the Paint Department equipment. Duties Receive paint products from suppliers, perform material handling to stage them, and dispose of empty containers Measure product attributes, including viscosity and temperature, and mix them together to achieve desired attributes Adjust equipment, including mix ratio targets, pressures, mixing speed, and temperatures to provide the desired painting performance Operate the paint thinner recycling equipment General Housekeeping of paint kitchen area includes, but is not limited to, ensuring drums of material are stored properly, empty drums and used consumables are in the proper disposal location, empty aerosol cans are punctured and disposed of and spilled liquids are cleaned up. Perform cycle counts of material, and keep track of past and expected usage, to support inventory system accuracy and the ordering of new material Maintain painting equipment to ensure proper performance, including the cleaning of screens, paint lines, pressure regulators, spigots, and the mixing equipment Replace paint pumps and related equipment with new or refurbished equipment Debug failure modes including poor Pro-Mix performance or settings, and air in fluid lines Debug blast booth equipment failures Identification, safe handling, and appropriate disposal of materials Maintain accurate data logs Performs other related duties as assigned by management Qualifications High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
