Unlike highly automated, repetitive assembly lines, this role offers excellent variety , working on a diverse mix of parts and products. You will be responsible for preparing and manually spraying components using specialized 2-part material systems . If you have a background in automotive, fleet, or industrial paint application and enjoy hands-on, high-quality craftsmanship where no two days are exactly the same, we want to hear from you.
Duties and Responsibilities Manual Spray Application:
Use professional spray guns to apply primers, basecoats, and topcoats evenly to a wide variety of parts arranged on manual racks or sawhorses. Material Mixing (2-Part Systems): Accurately measure, catalyze, and mix 2-part polyurethane, epoxy, or chemical-cure coatings, strictly managing pot-life and viscosity.
Surface Preparation & Masking:
Clean, degrease, sand, and mask various metal or composite substrates prior to coating to ensure maximum adhesion.
Equipment Maintenance:
Perform daily setup, cleanup, and troubleshooting of spray guns, pressure pots, lines, and mixing equipment.
Quality Inspection:
Visually inspect components for proper mill thickness, runs, sags, or orange peel, maintaining high aesthetic and functional standards.
Safety Compliance:
Consistently utilize proper PPE, including respiratory protection (supplied-air or half-mask) and paint suits, maintaining a clean and safe spray booth environment.
Qualifications and Skills Experience:
2+ years of experience manually spraying in an automotive, fleet, aerospace, or custom industrial manufacturing environment .
Technical Knowledge:
Proven experience handling 2-part liquid coating systems (epoxies, polyurethanes, etc.) and managing chemical cure times.
Precision Tool Handling:
Proficient with conventional, HVLP, or electrostatic spray guns and fluid delivery adjustments.
Adaptability & Problem Solving:
Ability to adapt technique quickly based on the geometry, size, and type of part being coated.
Physical Stamina:
Able to stand, bend, and move around racks/sawhorses for the duration of a shift in a spray booth environment.
