Industrial Painter / Millwork Finishing Technician Full-Time | Permanent Position | Join a Skilled, Team-Oriented Manufacturing Environment Are you an experienced painter, finisher, or woodworking professional looking to grow your career with a company that values craftsmanship, quality, and teamwork? We are seeking a Millwork Finishing Technician / Industrial Painter to join our production team and help create high-quality custom doors and millwork products in a fast-paced, hands-on shop environment. This role combines industrial finishing, woodworking, assembly, and general production support, offering variety in your day and opportunities to expand your skills in both finishing and millwork fabrication. What You'll Do Millwork Finishing & Industrial Painting Set up, operate, and monitor automated finishing lines and paint booth equipment. Apply water-based paints, stains, and sealers to custom millwork products. Ensure proper coverage, finish consistency, and mil thickness according to production specifications. Prepare surfaces through sanding, paint preparation, and defect correction to achieve high-quality finishes. Inspect finished products for color consistency, texture, and overall appearance. Identify and correct finish imperfections before products move to the next stage of production. Perform color and material changeovers efficiently while minimizing downtime. Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot finishing equipment, spray systems, and paint booths. Production & Assembly Assemble prehung doors and perform millwork fabrication tasks. Utilize power tools including nail guns, saws, routers, and other woodworking equipment. Follow work orders, production schedules, and written instructions accurately. Support material handling, loading, unloading, and general warehouse operations as needed. Collaborate with production leads to prioritize work and meet production deadlines. Team Support & Quality Assist and support entry-level operators and production staff. Maintain quality standards throughout the production process. Work independently while contributing to a team-focused environment. Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe. Follow all safety procedures related to equipment operation and finishing materials. Required Qualifications Required Experience & Skills 2+ years of experience in industrial painting, millwork finishing, woodworking, or a related manufacturing environment. Experience operating spray equipment, finishing systems, or automated finishing lines. Knowledge of water-based paints, stains, sealers, and finishing applications. Ability to recognize and correct inconsistencies in color, sheen, texture, and finish quality. Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship. Ability to work independently and stay productive with minimal supervision. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to read and follow work orders, production schedules, and written instructions. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Valid driver's license with a good driving record. Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening. Preferred Qualifications Experience in door manufacturing, millwork, or building products. Familiarity with paint booths and industrial spray gun systems. Forklift certification or prior forklift experience. Experience using tape measures and performing basic carpentry tasks. Knowledge of sanding, staining, sealing, and finish preparation techniques. Experience with power tools including saws, routers, and nail guns. background in industrial coatings or commercial finishing applications.
