Riley, KS Job Description:
The Painter, Automotive coats surfaces of motor vehicles such as automobiles, buses, and trucks with paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin or other material; using brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other devices; removes old paint from vehicles using liquid paint remover and scraper; smooths surfaces with sandpaper and steel wool. The Painter, Automotive worker roughens aluminum surfaces with acid solution and steel wool to ensure that paint adheres to surfaces, masks and covers portions of surfaces not to be painted, paints vehicle or specified portion of vehicle and may paint insignia, letters, or numerals on vehicle surface using stencils.
General Requirements:
Must have formal documented training and a minimum of five years of documented Painter, Automotive experience. Must be able to lift on an occasional basis a maximum of 70 pounds with frequent or constant lifting of 40 pounds. Must be able to climb in and out of military vehicles and related equipment. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to work in cramped areas for long periods of time. Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions to include intense heat, heavy wind, heavy rain, and snow or sleet. Must have a valid state driver\'s license. Must be able to attain licenses on military vehicles, tactical and nontactical. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be able to pass a background check and attain a security clearance if required. Demonstrated understanding of Safety and OSHA Law & Regulations.
