Superintendent- Industrial Painting & Blasting About Us Peak Industrial Coatings is a fast-growing, owner-led company in the industrial painting industry . We work with refineries, plants, and infrastructure clients who count on us to protect their assets and extend equipment life through sandblasting , scaffolding , and high-performance coatings . We're not a giant corporation—we're a tight, driven team where the right person can make a big impact . We're looking for a Superintendent who doesn't just run jobs—they build systems, lead people, and scale operations . If you love taking something good and making it great, this is your kind of role. Superintendent - Industrial Painting & Blasting Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY
The Superintendent is Peak's on-the-ground guarantee that every job is run safely, built right, and delivered on schedule. This is a hands-on field leadership role, not an office role. The Superintendent is on active jobsites daily, running crews, enforcing safety and quality standards, and making the real-time calls that keep a project on track. Peak competes on the promise that "we do it right, not cheap" and that customers never have to babysit our crews; the Superintendent is the person who makes that promise true, job after job. This role sits between Peak's foremen/crews and the President, closing the gap between what the production schedule commits to and what happens in the field.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Field Leadership & Scheduling Run daily field operations across all active jobsites within your assigned scope, coordinating crew assignments against the production schedule.
Own the two-to-six-week jobsite lookahead:
sequence work, confirm crew and equipment availability, and flag schedule risk to the Project Managers before it becomes a missed date. Confirm crew on-time arrival and productive start each day; address attendance or performance issues on the spot. Safety & Compliance Own jobsite safety end to end: daily job safety analyses (JSAs), toolbox talks, PPE and fall-protection compliance, and confined-space entry procedures on tank and vessel work. Enforce OSHA requirements and Peak's safety program without exception Investigate and report any incident or near-miss the same day it happens; identify the root cause and the fix, not just the write-up. Verify subcontractors and crew members meet Peak's site requirements (background checks, drug testing, certifications) before they set foot on a customer site. Quality Control & Craftsmanship Inspect surface preparation and coating application against the job's specification, manufacturer data sheets, and (where applicable) AMPP standards. Complete the iPad-based quality inspection checklist at each required hold point; do not let work proceed past a failed inspection. Own punch-list and rework prevention — Peak's reputation is built on not having to come back and fix its own work. Crew Management & Development Supervise foremen and crew leads; set clear daily expectations and hold people accountable to them. Coach crews on technique, job sequence, safety habits, and pace — this is a teaching role as much as a supervising one. Give the President honest, specific performance feedback on foremen and crew members, including who's ready for more responsibility. Hire, train, coach, mentor, and manage field employees Client & Project Communication Serve as Peak's face on the jobsite for the customer's plant/facility contact — professional, direct, and proactive rather than reactive. Communicate progress, schedule changes, and issues to the customer and to Peak's project/estimating team before they must ask. Represent Peak's value proposition in the field: this is a safety-first, process-driven crew, not the cheapest set of hands on the jobsite. Reporting & Documentation Log daily manpower, progress, weather impacts, and field conditions through Peak's daily reporting process. Track crew hours accurately and in real time — this data feeds job costing and profitability reporting. Reference PO/job numbers correctly on all field documentation so it ties back to the production schedule and job cost records.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of field supervisory experience in industrial/commercial painting, coatings, linings. Demonstrated ability to run multiple crews and jobsites at once without dropping safety or quality. Working knowledge of surface preparation methods (abrasive blasting, power tool cleaning) and industrial coating application (spray, roll, brush). Ability to read and work from job specifications, coating manufacturer data sheets, and basic drawings. High school diploma or equivalent; OSHA 10 at minimum, OSHA 30 strongly preferred (or obtained within the first 90 days).
AMPP CIP 1
strongly preferred. Valid driver's license and a record that allows coverage under Peak's vehicle insurance. Able to pass a background check and drug screen, and to enter confined spaces and work at heights per Peak's safety program.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Primarily an outdoor and industrial jobsite role: exposure to heights, confined spaces, weather, dust, fumes, and noise typical of industrial coatings work. Regularly required to climb, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods, and to wear PPE (respirator, harness, etc.) for a full shift. Able to lift/move equipment and materials up to 100 lbs., and to access jobsites via ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts.
