Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Steel Fabrication Shop Painter to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying high-quality paint finishes to fabricated steel components, ensuring durability, corrosion resistance, and an attractive appearance. Your expertise will contribute to the production of top-tier steel structures and equipment, supporting our commitment to excellence in industrial and construction projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a skilled team in a fast-paced environment dedicated to precision and quality. Duties Prepare steel surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Operate airless paint sprayers, brushes, rollers, and other hand tools to apply coatings efficiently and evenly. Use precision measuring instruments and basic math skills to verify dimensions and ensure proper alignment during painting processes. Handle materials safely using forklifts, cranes, and other warehouse equipment to transport steel components within the shop. Conduct inspections of painted surfaces for quality control, addressing any imperfections or inconsistencies promptly. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols related to industrial painting and materials handling. Collaborate with fabrication and assembly teams to coordinate painting schedules and meet project deadlines. Qualifications Proven experience in industrial or construction painting, including auto body repair or auto painting is highly desirable. Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, airless paint spraying equipment, and spray booths safely. Knowledge of materials handling procedures using forklifts within a warehouse setting.
Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour
