Marine Paint & Fibreglass Technician - Portland, ME Our client is an established marine services company specializing in the inspection, repair, and maintenance of sailboat rigging, spars, and related equipment. With a focus on quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction, they offer a dynamic work environment for skilled professionals in the marine industry. Our client is currently looking for a Marine Paint & Fiberglass Technician to join their Paint & Fiberglass Shop team. This role involves performing structural and cosmetic repairs, refinishing, and restoration work on marine vessels. -- Responsibilities Perform structural and cosmetic fiberglass repairs on marine vessels. Conduct composite repairs and fabrication as needed. Prepare fiberglass and composite surfaces for repair or refinishing. Perform gelcoat repairs and color matching to restore surfaces. Repair cracks, chips, gouges, and other surface damage. Sand, grind, fill, and fair surfaces to achieve a smooth finish. Prepare vessels and components for painting, including masking and protecting surrounding areas. Apply marine primers, paints, and coatings using professional techniques. Assist with spray-finishing projects and perform touch-ups as needed. -- Qualifications Experience in marine paint, fiberglass, gelcoat, or composite repair is preferred. Relevant experience in automotive body and paint, composites, industrial coatings, aircraft, manufacturing, or other finishing trades will also be considered. Strong attention to detail and patience for precision work. Experience using sanding, grinding, polishing, and finishing equipment.
