ShopSabre is looking for an experienced Industrial Paint Manager to lead and oversee our small paint department consisting of approximately 5-7 painters and preppers. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands the complete industrial painting process and knows how to lead a team to consistently deliver high-quality results. As the Paint Manager at ShopSabre, you'll be responsible for: Leading, supervising, and supporting a team of painters and preppers in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Planning, prioritizing, and assigning daily work to ensure production schedules and deadlines are met. Training, coaching, and developing employees on proper preparation, painting techniques, quality standards, and safety procedures. Overseeing the complete paint process, including cleaning, sanding, degreasing, masking, and preparing raw steel frames and sub-assemblies. Ensuring high-quality finishes are applied using HVLP equipment to achieve consistent, durable, and professional results. Mixing and managing paint materials, ensuring proper viscosity, application techniques, and adherence to product specifications. Inspecting finished products and addressing quality concerns before parts move to the next stage of production. Troubleshooting paint defects and production challenges, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions. Maintaining high standards for department organization, cleanliness, efficiency, and safety. Monitoring workflow and identifying opportunities to improve processes, reduce rework, and increase productivity. Working closely with other departments to coordinate production needs and resolve issues that impact quality or delivery. Ensuring proper use and maintenance of paint equipment, tools, and department resources. Enforcing the use of proper paint PPE and maintaining a safe work environment.

What We're Looking For:

Previous paint department management or supervisory experience in an industrial or manufacturing paint environment. At least 5 years of professional industrial painting experience, including significant hands-on experience with HVLP equipment. Related experience will be considered. Strong knowledge of industrial paint preparation, application, mixing, viscosity, curing, and finish quality. Experience leading, coaching, and holding employees accountable while building a positive and productive team environment. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly identify and resolve paint quality, equipment, and production issues. Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to consistently delivering high-quality finishes. Ability to inspect work, identify defects, and ensure products meet established quality standards. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and keep a small department running efficiently. A hands-on leadership style and willingness to step in and assist the team when needed. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with employees and other departments. Experience with pressure washers, machinery preparation, and industrial painting equipment. Forklift experience is a plus, although we are happy to train the right candidate. Ability to occasionally lift 50+ pounds and move parts and materials. Comfortable wearing proper paint PPE and committed to maintaining a safe working environment. Why ShopSabre?
