$20.00 - $29.00 per hour (based on experience and skill level) Build Something Unique Every Day Custom Container Living (CCL) is a rapidly growing, family-owned company founded in 2015 with a mission to revolutionize home construction through innovative shipping container homes. Located in Butler, Missouri, we design and build custom container homes that combine durability, craftsmanship, and creativity. We are seeking an experienced Painter who takes pride in producing high-quality finishes and understands that attention to detail makes all the difference. This is not production-line work. Every project is unique, and we are looking for someone who values craftsmanship, efficiency, and continuous improvement. What You'll Do Prepare and finish interior and exterior surfaces to company quality standards. Apply primers, paints, stains, lacquers, and specialty coatings using airless sprayers, brushes, and rollers. Perform surface preparation including sanding, caulking, filling, puttying, masking, and finishing. Work with wood, MDF, steel, aluminum, cabinetry, doors, trim, and other building materials. Mix paints and coatings accurately while maintaining consistency across projects. Track and document material usage. Inspect completed work for quality, appearance, and durability. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Collaborate with team members and other departments to keep projects moving efficiently. Follow established company processes and quality standards. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. Minimum 2 years of professional residential, commercial, or industrial painting experience. Experience using airless sprayers and other paint application equipment. Strong knowledge of surface preparation techniques. Ability to safely use painting tools, power tools, and equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and perform physical work throughout the day. Open to occasional travel if business needs require it. While travel is not expected to be a common requirement for the position, there may be times when support is needed at remote job sites or project locations. Preferred Industrial painting experience. Experience with stains, clear coats, and lacquer finishes. Cabinet finishing experience. Basic carpentry skills, including cabinet and door disassembly/reassembly. Experience working in manufacturing, custom home construction, or fabrication environments. What Success Looks Like The ideal candidate: Produces clean, professional finishes with minimal rework.
