Job Description

Experienced Commercial Painter Marotta Painting is seeking an experienced commercial painter with at least three years of professional painting experience. The ideal candidate will have strong finish-painting and drywall-repair skills, be able to safely operate aerial lifts, and understand the proper preparation and coating systems required for a variety of surfaces. Key Responsibilities Read and understand construction plans, specifications, finish schedules, and paint schedules. Perform field measurements and accurately estimate paint, primer, and material quantities. Prepare material lists and order paint and related supplies. Coordinate material needs to prevent waste and avoid job delays. Prepare and paint walls, ceilings, doors, frames, trim, structural steel, masonry, and other interior and exterior surfaces. Properly prepare and repair drywall, including patching, taping, sanding, skim coating, and matching existing textures. Identify and correct surface defects before applying primer or finish coatings. Operate airless paint sprayers safely and efficiently. Operate arial work platforms (lifts) safely and efficiently Produce high-quality sprayed, rolled, and brushed finishes. Safely operate scissor lifts and boom lifts in accordance with company and jobsite requirements. Select and apply the appropriate primers, paints, and specialty coatings for different surfaces and environments. Perform surface preparation, including cleaning, sanding, scraping, patching, level 5 skimming, caulking, masking, and priming. Follow project specifications, manufacturer instructions, and jobsite safety procedures. Protect surrounding surfaces and maintain a clean, organized work area. Work independently and as part of a commercial painting crew. Clean and properly maintain tools, sprayers, and other equipment. Required Qualifications At least three years of professional painting experience. Commercial painting experience is strongly preferred. Ability to read construction plans, specifications, and finish schedules. Ability to measure work areas and accurately calculate paint and material quantities. Experience preparing material lists and ordering paint and supplies. Proficiency with airless spray equipment, brushes, and rollers. Experience safely operating scissor lifts and boom lifts. Strong finish-painting and detail-work skills. Ability to perform drywall repairs, skim coating, sanding, and proper surface preparation. Knowledge of proper surface preparation and coating selection for drywall, wood, metal, masonry, concrete, and previously painted surfaces. Ability to read and follow product data sheets and manufacturer requirements. Willingness and ability to travel overnight occasionally for out-of-town projects. Availability for occasional weekend work when required by a project schedule. Ability to work safely at heights and in active construction environments. Dependable transportation and a strong attendance record. Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and perform physical work throughout the shift. What We Are Looking For We are looking for a dependable, safety-conscious painter who takes pride in producing professional-quality work. Candidates should be able to review plans, determine material requirements, properly repair and prepare surfaces, and keep projects supplied without excessive waste. This position requires someone who understands the complete coating process—not simply how to apply paint—and can complete detailed work with minimal supervision. Pay will be based on experience, skill level, and demonstrated abilities.
Pay:
$27.00 - $40.00 per hour
