Overview Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Finishing Painter, where you will play a vital role in bringing high-quality products to life through expert painting and coating techniques. The Finishing Painter at Gibson performs hand spraying on guitars. In charge of making sure all paint and lacquer finishing is up to company standards. Keeping paint booths and spray equipment clean and investigating any quality issues that may arise. This energetic position offers the opportunity to work with advanced equipment and materials, ensuring that each finished product meets rigorous quality standards. Responsibilities Prepare surfaces for painting by performing construction painting surface preparation and fabrication tasks to ensure optimal coating adhesion. Operate various spray guns including conventional and airless paint spraying equipment to apply finishes accurately and efficiently. Interpret production documents and specifications to determine appropriate coating methods, color matching using visual color comparison, and application techniques. Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols by using personal protective equipment (PPE), respirators, respiratory protection gear, and following industrial painting safety standards. Conduct quality inspections throughout the finishing process, ensuring coatings meet quality standards in production while utilizing precision measuring instruments for accuracy. Support warehouse operations by managing inventory of paints, coatings, hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, machining tools, and auto body repair supplies. Skills Experience with coating spray guns—both conventional spray guns and airless paint spraying systems. Strong understanding of safety protocols including PPE use, respirator fitting, respiratory protection measures, and adherence to safety standards in manufacturing environments. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and construction surface preparation techniques. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to optimize finishing processes efficiently while maintaining high-quality output.
Pay:
$27.05 - $29.10 per hour
