Position Summary Matlab is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Industrial Painter to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience applying both powder coat and wet paint finishes in an industrial environment and a strong commitment to quality, safety, and productivity. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying coatings, inspecting finished products, and ensuring all work meets customer specifications and company quality standards. The successful candidate will take pride in producing high-quality finishes while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare surfaces for coating through cleaning, sanding, masking, and other required pre-treatment processes. Apply powder coat and wet paint finishes using approved methods and equipment to achieve consistent, high-quality results. Operate, maintain, and perform basic troubleshooting of painting equipment, spray systems, and related tools. Inspect completed work to verify compliance with customer requirements, quality standards, and production specifications. Mix, match, and prepare paints and coatings according to job requirements, ensuring color accuracy and coating consistency. Identify and correct coating defects or process issues to minimize rework and maintain production efficiency. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company policies and safety regulations. Collaborate with production, quality, and other team members to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule. Follow all safety procedures, work instructions, and quality standards. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and workplace safety. Qualifications Required Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an industrial painting environment. Hands-on experience with powder coating and wet paint application processes. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations accurately. Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and coating application methods. Proficiency in operating and maintaining painting equipment, tools, and spray systems. Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently produce high-quality finishes. Knowledge of workplace safety practices, PPE requirements, and proper handling of paints and coatings. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing production demands. Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and lift or move materials as needed. Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement. Preferred Experience working with robotic painting equipment and automated finishing systems. Experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment. Physical Requirements Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions. Frequently lift up to 50 pounds and lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment as required.
