Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Powder Coating Operator to join our manufacturing team.
Responsibilities:
Surface Preparation:
Clean, degrease, sandblast, and pretreat raw metal components to ensure proper powder adhesion and remove contaminants.
Masking & Racking:
Apply high-temperature tapes, plugs, and hooks to protect designated surfaces, threads, and ground points, then hang parts securely on conveyor or batch racks.
Powder Application:
Operate electrostatic spray guns to apply thermoset powders evenly at the specified mil thickness across complex geometries.
Curing Management:
Load racks into industrial batch or conveyor ovens, setting and monitoring cure temperatures and cycle times to meet paint manufacturer specifications.
Quality Inspection:
Inspect finished parts visually and with digital mil-thickness gauges, cross-hatch adhesion testers, and gloss meters to detect runs, orange peel, light spots, or contamination.
Equipment Maintenance:
Clean spray guns, fluidizing hoppers, and booth filters during color changes; perform routine preventative maintenance on application systems and oven burners.
Shop Safety & Housekeeping:
Adhere to OSHA and safety protocols regarding combustible dusts, respirator fit guidelines, spray booth ventilation, and safe hazardous material handling.
Pay:
From $15.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
