RESPONSIBILTIES

Prepare and mix paint and protective coatings according to specified colors, formulas, and application requirements. Apply thinner-based and powder-coat paints to manufactured metal products using manual spray guns and spray booth equipment. Operate manual paint pumps for custom colors, specialty coatings, and small-batch production runs. Power wash, dry, prepare, and manually spray large or oversized custom metal components. Inspect coated surfaces for proper coverage, finish quality, and consistency, and address defects or areas requiring rework. Clean and maintain spray guns, hoses, pumps, and related painting equipment using appropriate solvents. Maintain the paint booth and regularly replace or service paint exhaust filters to support proper ventilation and safe operations. Safely handle and position large metal components during preparation and painting activities. Follow manufacturing procedures, quality standards, chemical-handling requirements, and workplace safety practices. Consistently wear required PPE, including safety shoes, safety glasses, respirator, hearing protection, and protective painter's suit. Regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally assist with repositioning components weighing more than 100 pounds. Communicate effectively with supervisors and manufacturing team members to coordinate production activities. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Six months to one year of industrial painting, coating, manufacturing, or related training preferred. Ability to safely operate spray-painting equipment and work with industrial coatings. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and established safety procedures. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, lifting, bending, and handling large metal components. #

$20.00 - $21.00 per hour
