Job Description
Hunter Metal Industries LLC is a growing manufacturer of custom retail display fixtures and OEM metal products located in Patchogue, NY . We are expanding our second-shift powder coating operation and are looking for a dependable, motivated Powder Coating Operator / Sprayer to join our team. No previous powder coating experience is required. We are willing to train the right person on our equipment, processes, and quality standards. This is a hands-on manufacturing position where you'll learn a valuable skill while working with fabricated metal products from start to finish. What You'll Do Operate manual powder coating spray equipment to apply coatings to fabricated metal parts. Learn and follow proper powder coating techniques and application procedures. Adjust spray gun settings to achieve proper coverage and finish. Prepare parts for coating and ensure proper positioning for spraying. Inspect finished parts for proper coverage, color, texture, and overall finish quality. Identify coating defects or equipment issues and communicate them to the supervisor. Change colors and assist with cleaning and maintaining powder coating equipment. Follow production schedules while maintaining quality standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Properly use all required PPE and follow company safety procedures. Work as part of a team to meet daily production and quality goals. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is: Dependable and punctual. Willing to learn a new skill. Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Detail-oriented and takes pride in producing quality work. Able to follow instructions and production specifications. Comfortable working on their feet throughout the shift. Able to safely lift and move parts and materials up to 50 lbs. A team player with a strong work ethic. Previous powder coating, industrial painting, automotive painting, or manufacturing experience is a plus, but not required. Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools, power tools, or manufacturing equipment are also a plus. Bi-lingual candidates are encouraged to apply. Work Environment Indoor manufacturing environment Powder coating spray area and curing ovens Work may involve exposure to heat near curing ovens Required use of PPE Respiratory protection required as applicable to the coating process Standing and physical activity throughout the shift Schedule Monday•Friday | 2nd Shift Summer Hours•through
