Responsibilities The Painter is a critical role at V&J Auto Body and is responsible for painting vehicles with a high level of accuracy, consistency, and quality.
Responsibilities include:
Inspect and ensure proper surface preparation prior to beginning painting process Accurately color match vehicle using specialized tools and software to mix paint accurately (primarily using MoonWalk™ by PPG) Apply paint to vehicles using professional-grade equipment, ensuring an even and smooth application Apply multiple coats as necessary, allowing proper drying time between each coat to achieve the desired finish and depth Follow industry and manufacturer procedures diligently by adhering to the provided work order for each listed operation Utilize provided technology and software to update vehicle status and document procedures executed Utilize industry-standard tools and equipment to complete paint work efficiently and to high-quality standards Work collaboratively with other team members, including body technicians, paint prep technicians and assembly technicians, to ensure a seamless repair process from start to finish Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as relevant safety guidelines, to ensure a safe working environment Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the shop at all times Stay up-to-date with the latest paint-prepping techniques and industry advancements through continuous learning and professional development Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to: shop maintenance, shop projects, company initiatives, etcRequirements:
18 years or older High school diploma or equivalent Proven experience as a Painter, 3+ years experience preferred Excellent knowledge of paint techniques and industry best practices Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to assess and diagnose vehicle issues appropriately Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members Professional attitude and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment Ability to lift items up to 50lbs.
