This role is vital in ensuring high-quality finishes, adherence to safety protocols, and efficient workflow on the production line. As a leader in the paint department, you will coordinate daily tasks, supervise team members, and uphold strict quality standards to deliver exceptional results. Your expertise in industrial painting processes, equipment operation, and safety practices will drive continuous improvement and operational excellence. Responsibilities Lead/Support the paint line team to ensure efficient production flow, quality standards, and safety compliance. Oversee preparation of surfaces for painting, including construction surface preparation and finishing techniques. Operate and maintain spray guns, airless paint sprayers, powder coating equipment, and other application tools with precision. Interpret production documents, work orders, and technical specifications to ensure correct application procedures. Monitor coating thickness, color consistency through visual color comparison, and surface quality using precision measuring instruments. Ensure proper handling of materials, including forklift operation and warehouse organization for materials storage and movement. Enforce personal protective equipment (PPE) use such as respirators and respiratory protection while adhering to safety protocols at all times. Conduct routine inspections of equipment like machining tools, power tools, and spray guns for optimal performance. Maintain accurate documentation of production activities, quality checks, and safety compliance records. Support training initiatives to enhance team skills in industrial painting techniques including conventional spraying, powder coating, and auto body repair finishing. Qualifications Proven experience in manufacturing environments with a focus on industrial painting or coating processes. Strong mechanical knowledge related to spray guns, coating application equipment, machining tools, and surface preparation methods. Ability to interpret technical drawings, work orders, and production documents accurately. Familiarity with safety protocols including PPE use such as respirators and adherence to respiratory protection standards. Experience operating forklifts and handling materials within a warehouse setting is preferred. Knowledge of quality standards in production environments with an emphasis on visual color comparison and coating thickness measurement. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to coating application thicknesses, and material quantities. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to guide a team effectively while maintaining a safe work environment.
