We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality, compliance, and excellence in everything we do. As the Industrial Technician and Painting Specialist for T.J. Clark International, you will be responsible for performing surface preparation, treatment, and painting of industrial equipment, structures, and facilities. This role requires a thorough understanding of various coating materials, application techniques, and safety protocols to ensure high-quality finishes and protection against corrosion and environmental factors.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Conduct surface preparation activities including cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming to ensure proper adhesion of coating materials. Select appropriate coating materials based on project requirements, environmental conditions, and substrate characteristics. Apply coatings using various techniques such as spray, brush, and roller to achieve desired thickness and finish. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols throughout all phases of surface treatment and painting activities. Maintain and calibrate painting equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance and efficiency. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to plan and execute painting projects according to schedule and budget. Keep accurate records of materials usage, work hours, and project milestones. Monitor environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, and ventilation to optimize painting conditions and drying times. Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in coating materials and application techniques.

Skills and Qualifications:

Strong knowledge of coating materials, application methods, and surface preparation techniques. Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures related to painting operations, including handling of hazardous materials and use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship to achieve high-quality finishes. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Physical stamina and dexterity to perform repetitive tasks, work at heights, and lift heavy objects as required. Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues related to coating application and equipment operation. Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and travel to off-site locations as needed.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in industrial painting and surface treatment preferred. Proven experience as an industrial painter or treatment specialist in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial maintenance setting.

Pay:

$18.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
