Experience 0-2 years On-the-job training provided Skills / Abilities Ability to discern quality of powdercoat-painted units and maintain consistent quality of finish Ability to work in rotational assignments within the paint classification and complete the essential functions of the job Ability to prioritize in order to meet demands based on MRD (market rate of demand); and communicate effectively one-on-one or in group settings. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality documents, and procedure manuals. Must be able to learn and safely use material handler equipment; obtain and sustain a forklift operator certification. Preferred Qualifications Prior powder coat paint experience Scope Individual contributor Function Perform operations to prep, powder coat or wet coat paint finishing and touch up mixers and various production parts to meet customer expectations. Responsibilities (80% Core Essential Functions) Performs a variety paint-finishing tasks which include liquid or powder coat paint application on generic mixers or other production parts. Utilizes visual system to apply coatings at appropriate thickness and distance to ensure quality finish to parts. Maintains wash system's chemical and mechanical integrity. Maintains powder coat equipment (guns, nozzles, etc), inventory and recycling processes. Maintains tools, systems, and materials within assigned area. Performs safety inspections and preventative maintenance on tools, PPE or other items used daily. Reviews inventory, replenishes supplies as needed. Communicates with materials department on supply level and order needs. Understands the basic settings and control panels of oven in powder coat process. Adjusts in accordance to engineering specifications to ensure proper temperatures and speeds throughout process. Inspects quality of work throughout paint process to make adjustments as needed to meet quality standards. Communicates unusual conditions or specific problems to supervision. Responsible for the quality of own work. Loads and unloads conveyors for movement of parts through the wash, degreasing, painting or baking cycles. Works with managers, engineers, and team leads to identify and meet production needs. Prioritizes workflow based on MRD. Understands and acts as a role model at following company policies and procedures. Responsibilities (20% Department-specific Core Essential Functions) Masks/plugs and demasks/unplugs key areas that cannot be powder coated. Performs touch-up paint or rework on surfaces as warranted in final assembly areas. Performs grinding/sanding buffing as needed. Trains new employees and existing employees. High Job Knowledge of work stations in assigned area, makes basic quality decisions while supporting quality standards and verifies that production documentation is completed Perform housekeeping activities to ensure a clean and safe work environment. Safely utilizes material handling equipment as required (forklifts, cranes, two-wheelers, pallets and rollers, etc.)Ensures all routine inspections and preventative maintenance are followed. Physical Requirements / Working Conditions Manufacturing, non-air conditioned environment.

PPE required:

Steel toe shoes and eye protection. Respirator use and/or Tyvek suit with supplied air, gloves, sleeves, or other. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, bend, or stoop and use hands, arms and walk frequently. The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
