Job Description

Overview Foundation Stocks is seeking a Junior Painter / Painting Technician to work with HVLP paint systems and composite stocks in our finishing department. In this role, you'll handle surface prep, sanding, masking, HVLP spray application, color matching, custom finish work, touch-ups, quality checks, and the final finish on premium precision rifle stocks. We're looking for someone with sharp attention to detail, genuine pride in their craftsmanship, and the ability to deliver consistent, high-quality cosmetic finishes. An artistic eye for color, texture, and overall finish quality goes a long way here. Duties Prepare composite stocks for paint by sanding by hand and with an orbital sander, masking areas with tape, and cleaning surfaces for best paint adhesion. Operate and maintain HVLP spraying systems; apply high-quality finishes via HVLP and hand-painting techniques to composite stocks and other custom components. Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail by producing consistent, high-quality finishes that meet company standards. Inspect all parts before, during, and after painting to identify defects, contamination, missed coverage, runs, orange peel, dry spray, or other finish imperfections. Keep paint booth equipment, filters, air lines, and work areas clean, organized, and operating efficiently. Report equipment malfunctions promptly and assist in preventative maintenance to minimize production downtime. Requirements General knowledge of or experience with HVLP painting systems. Auto body-type experience is a plus. Strong attention to detail. Quality-focused mindset. Mechanical aptitude. Pride in workmanship. Ability to recognize and correct paint defects. Organized and clean work habits. Commitment to preventative maintenance. Ability to work independently while maintaining production standards. Pay:
$18.00 - $25.00 per hour
