Job Description
- Job Title: Industrial Painter / Powder Coating Technician
- Job Description
- We are seeking a skilled Industrial Painter / Powder Coating Technician to join our dynamic manufacturing team.
This role involves preparing, coating, and finishing metal components using powder coating equipment within a controlled paint booth environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in industrial finishing processes, possess strong attention to detail, and uphold a commitment to producing high-quality work safely and efficiently.
- Responsibilities
- + Prepare metal parts for powder coating by cleaning, sanding, masking, and inspecting surfaces.
+ Apply powder coat finishes using electrostatic spray equipment in a paint booth environment.
+ Load and unload parts from racks, carts, or conveyor systems.
+ Monitor coating thickness, finish quality, and adherence to customer specifications.
+ Operate curing ovens and verify proper cure times and temperatures.
+ Perform quality inspections and touch-up work as needed.
+ Maintain paint booth, spray equipment, and work area cleanliness.
+ Follow all safety procedures, including PPE requirements and hazardous material handling.
+ Assist with material movement and production tasks as needed.
+ Document production and quality information accurately.
- Essential Skills
- + Experience in racking, inspection, painting, and powder coating. + Proficiency in material handling and documentation. + Skill in sanding, using spray guns, and industrial painting. + Knowledge of paint booth and paint preparation processes.
- Additional Skills & Qualifications
- + Ability to perform tedious tasks with high attention to safety. + Capability to multitask and lift between 30-50 lbs as needed. + Good eye for detail and ability to read and follow basic work instructions.

- Work Environment
- Join a metal plating company with 100 employees across three plants. This industrial environment specializes in plating and coating metal parts. Some departments may experience warm temperatures during the summer and cold conditions in the winter.
- Job Type & Location
- This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.
- Pay and Benefits
- The pay range for this position is $22.
00 - $23.65/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
