Job Description

Overview We are hiring an experienced Industrial Painter/Sandblaster for industrial and structural steel projects. Candidates must have hands-on experience with abrasive blasting, surface preparation, and industrial coating application. Responsibilities Apply industrial coatings using airless spray equipment Apply epoxy paint per project specifications Perform abrasive blasting Operate blasting equipment (bridge blaster) Use power and air tools (grinders, sanders, needle guns) Perform paint removal and surface prep Roll-and-brush painting as needed Maintain clean and safe work areas Follow all safety and jobsite procedures Qualifications Proven experience in residential painting, commercial painting, or industrial painting environments Experience as an industrial painter and/or sandblaster Knowledge of airless spray systems and epoxy coatings Familiar with abrasive blasting materials and equipment Ability to operate power and air tools Must pass a physical exam Must be clean-shaven for respirator use Reliable and safety-focused Familiarity with hand tools such as blast gun, scrapers, trowels; power tools including airless sprayers and drills; welding equipment; masonry tools; and plastering supplies Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship Physical ability to perform manual tasks in various environmental conditions including working at heights or confined spaces if necessary Duties Operate sandblasting equipment and abrasive blasting techniques to clean and prepare surfaces for painting or coating, ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Use spray guns, airless paint sprayers, and conventional spray equipment for applying primers, paints, powders, or coatings with precision. Interpret production documents, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately execute surface preparation and coating tasks. Handle materials safely using forklifts, cranes, and other warehouse equipment while maintaining strict adherence to safety standards and PPE use. Conduct surface inspections using visual color comparison tools and precision measuring instruments to ensure coating quality aligns with specifications. Perform construction painting surface preparation, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and applying primer coats before finishing coats. Maintain cleanliness of work areas, tools, and equipment such as hand tools, power tools, spray guns, and machining devices to promote a safe working environment. Qualifications Proven experience in industrial painting, sandblasting, or related manufacturing finishing roles. Knowledge of safety protocols including PPE use such as respirators and respiratory protection devices. Familiarity with coating materials like powder coating and auto painting processes. Ability to interpret technical drawings, production documents, and blueprints accurately. Mechanical knowledge including operation of hand tools, power tools, spray guns, airless paint sprayers, and basic machining skills. Experience working with quality standards in production environments to ensure consistent results.
