Account Manager | Paint and Coating Industrial Applications Drive Growth. Build Relationships. Deliver Solutions. A leading provider of industrial products and technical services is seeking an experienced Account Manager to develop new business opportunities and grow strategic customer relationships throughout the manufacturing sector. This role is ideal for a consultative sales professional who enjoys working directly with customers, solving operational challenges, conducting product demonstrations, and building long-term partnerships. The successful candidate will manage a territory of existing accounts while actively pursuing new business opportunities across industrial and automotive environments. Approximately 60% of activities will focus on developing new opportunities; 40% servicing of existing accounts.

REMOTE. Candidates residing in lower-to-middle Ohio, Indiana or Illinois preferred.

Compensation:
base salary in the $80,000 to low $90,000 range (highly dependent on experience), plus bonus opportunity. What You'll Do Business Development & Sales Growth Generate new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and customer outreach. Manage the full sales process from lead generation through proposal development, negotiation, and closing. Identify opportunities to expand product and service utilization within existing customer accounts. Develop and execute account growth strategies that drive revenue and customer retention. Customer Relationship Management Establish trusted relationships with key decision-makers at manufacturing and industrial facilities. Understand customer objectives and recommend solutions that improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and safety. Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve customer concerns and support ongoing account success. Product Demonstration & Technical Support Conduct on-site product evaluations, demonstrations, and operational trials. Train customer personnel on product applications, safe handling practices, and proper usage procedures. Monitor product performance and provide recommendations for continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with safety documentation and applicable chemical management requirements. Territory & Account Management Maintain accurate sales activity, pipeline, and customer information within CRM systems. Coordinate with operations, customer service, logistics, and technical teams to ensure seamless support. Participate in sales meetings, training activities, and market development initiatives. Stay informed on industry trends, customer needs, and competitive activity. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree OR equivalent combination of education and professional experience. Minimum 3 years of B2B sales, account management, or business development experience. Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and CRM platforms. Preferred Experience selling products or services into manufacturing, industrial, automotive, or production environments. Knowledge of chemicals, paint or coating products is preferred, but not required. Experience conducting customer demonstrations, product trials, or consultative solution selling. Work Environment Frequent local and regional travel to customer locations. Occasional overnight travel required. Some evening or weekend support may be necessary to meet customer needs.
