Education Requirements High school diploma or GED required. Technical training in industrial painting, powder coating, manufacturing, or related fields is a plus. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions. Experience Requirements Minimum 1 year of industrial painting or powder coating experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Knowledge of coating applications, paint mixing, coating thickness, and surface preparation techniques. Experience identifying and correcting coating defects such as fisheyes, poor adhesion, runs, and rough finishes. Ability to use measuring tools including viscosity testers and coating thickness gauges. Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work effectively in a team environment. Knowledge of quality standards, color matching, and coating specifications. Physical Capabilities Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach throughout the shift. Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment around production equipment, cranes, and forklift traffic. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Strong visual acuity, including color recognition and inspection of finished products. Job Duties Prepare, mask, clean, paint, and finish metal components and other surfaces. Operate industrial spray equipment and paint systems to apply high-quality coatings. Inspect painted products for quality, color consistency, coating thickness, and finish defects. Troubleshoot coating issues and perform touch-ups as needed. Perform routine maintenance on paint equipment, spray guns, booths, filters, and related systems. Assist with 5S, housekeeping, and paint booth cleaning activities. Review blueprints and specifications to ensure products meet customer requirements. Support production goals while maintaining safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
