Previous paint preparation experience is preferred. Candidates with basic mechanical aptitude, experience using tools, and a willingness to learn will receive on-the-job training. As a Paint Prep Technician you will be an important member of our Paint Department and manufacturing team. You will prepare aluminum sign structures and components for painting by cleaning, sanding, filling imperfections, masking non-painted areas, and completing final quality inspections before products enter the paint booth. This position also plays an important role in maintaining an efficient production workflow by communicating and coordinating with other members of the manufacturing team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Clean and prepare aluminum surfaces prior to painting. Sand surfaces using pneumatic palm sanders and other appropriate tools. Perform finishing work and minor surface repairs using body filler, Bondo, and similar materials. Inspect prepared products to ensure they meet quality standards before entering the paint process. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Monitor inventory levels of paint-preparation materials and supplies. Experience and Qualifications Previous paint preparation, bodywork, manufacturing, or similar experience is preferred, but not required. Candidates with transferable skills and a willingness to learn will receive on-the-job training. Experience using power tools, pneumatic tools, or sanders is preferred. Ability to follow instructions, maintain attention to detail, and produce consistent, quality work. Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Pay:
$20.00 per hour
