This energetic position offers the opportunity to work with a variety of materials, tools, and techniques to ensure high-quality coatings and surface finishes. You will be responsible for surface preparation, applying protective coatings, and ensuring that all projects meet safety and quality standards. Duties Operate abrasive blasting equipment to clean and prepare surfaces of metal structures, machinery, or components for painting or coating applications. Apply industrial and construction paints using airless spray systems, brushes, or rollers to achieve durable finishes on various surfaces. Use hand tools such as grinders, sanders, scrapers, and power tools to remove rust, old paint, or debris from surfaces prior to painting. Handle materials safely Conduct inspections with precision measuring instruments and basic math skills to ensure surface preparation meets specifications. Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools, disposing of waste properly, and adhering to safety protocols related to materials handling and fabrication. Qualifications Prior experience with abrasive blasting techniques and industrial painting is highly preferred. Ability to operate power tools, airless paint sprayers, and other hand tools safely and effectively. Basic math skills for measurements and calculations required during surface preparation and coating application.
