Coating Operator (Temp-to-Hire)
Shift:
2nd 3:30pm-2am
Location:
Houston, TX 77082 (Energy Corridor)

ASAP Pay:
$17-$19/ hour Summary The Coating Operator is responsible for applying coatings, both powder or solvent based or other finishes to manufactured parts using various equipment and processes. The Coating Operator ensures parts meet quality, safety, and production standards. Essential Functions Apply coatings according to production specifications and work instructions Monitor coating thickness, adhesion, and finish requirements Prepare surfaces before coating (cleaning, masking, sanding, blasting as required) Read and interpret job orders and coating specifications Duties and Responsibilities Load and unload parts onto coating lines or workstations Perform routine equipment checks and basic maintenance Identify and report coating defects or equipment issues Maintain the cleanliness of the area Adhere to all safety rules, PPE requirements including full face respirator, and company policies Other tasks assigned by supervisor or management Education/Experience Experience with coating or spray painting, including powder coating, both with manual and automatic systems 1-3 years' experience completing warehouse tasks Experience in a warehouse/distribution center specializing in the waterworks industry or related products Experience with powder coating Knowledge & Skills Understanding of coating processes and surface preparation Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders Ability to use precision measuring tools Clear, concise, and accurate communication skills Ability to prioritize effectively Excellent teamwork skills Basic mathematics Basic computer experience Ability to pay attention to detail Physical Demands & Work Environment Able to lift and move up to 45 pounds during a 10-hour shift Frequently required to stand, bend, and lift during a 10-hour shift Repetitive use of hands and arms Must be able to wear required PPE, including respirators and protective gear Able to work in various climate conditions Exposure to moving machinery, heavy materials, and grinding equipment Overtime and weekend work may occasionally be required Must pass background and drug screen
