This position will work in an industrial shop environment and will assist experienced painters with surface preparation, paint mixing, spray-gun application, cleanup, and maintaining a safe and organized work area. The ideal candidate is someone who is mechanically inclined, takes pride in their work, follows safety procedures, and is willing to learn industrial painting techniques. Responsibilities Assist with painting and coating industrial equipment, motors, and machinery. Operate a paint spray gun after receiving proper training and instruction. Prepare equipment and surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and other preparation. Mix and prepare paints and coatings according to job requirements and manufacturer specifications. Apply primers, paints, and protective coatings evenly and professionally. Assist with moving, positioning, and preparing equipment for painting. Inspect finished work for proper coverage, appearance, and quality. Maintain paint equipment, spray guns, hoses, tools, and work areas. Clean and properly store painting equipment and materials. Follow all company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and environmental guidelines. Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards. Assist other shop personnel with general duties as needed. Follow instructions from supervisors and experienced painters. Perform physically demanding work, including standing, bending, lifting, and working around large industrial equipment. Requirements Previous painting experience is preferred. Industrial painting or spray-gun experience is a plus. Mechanical or industrial shop experience is a plus.
