Pipeline Painter / Industrial Coatings TechnicianJob Overview We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Pipeline Painter / Industrial Coatings Technician to join our pipeline construction and maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for surface preparation, protective coating application, corrosion prevention, and finishing work on pipelines, valves, tanks, structural steel, and related infrastructure. Your expertise will help protect critical assets, extend equipment life, and ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications. This position offers opportunities to work on pipeline construction projects, facility upgrades, integrity maintenance programs, and industrial coating applications in a fast-paced field environment. Duties Prepare pipeline surfaces by abrasive blasting, power-tool cleaning, grinding, sanding, and solvent cleaning to meet coating specifications. Apply protective coatings, epoxy systems, urethanes, primers, and specialty industrial coatings using brushes, rollers, conventional spray equipment, and airless sprayers. Perform coating repairs on pipelines, fittings, valves, pump stations, compressor stations, tanks, and structural steel. Inspect surfaces before and after coating application to ensure compliance with quality standards and coating thickness requirements. Assist with pipeline construction activities, including tie-ins, fabrication support, maintenance work, and right-of-way restoration when required. Operate and maintain painting, blasting, and surface-preparation equipment safely and efficiently. Follow all company, client, and regulatory safety procedures, including confined-space, hot-work, and hazardous-material protocols. Complete daily reports, material tracking, and quality-control documentation. Requirements Proven experience in pipeline construction, industrial painting, protective coatings, or corrosion-control applications. Knowledge of industrial coating systems, surface preparation standards, and coating inspection requirements. Experience working in pipeline, oil and gas, utility, energy, or heavy industrial environments. Skilled in the use of airless spray equipment, abrasive blasting equipment, power tools, hand tools, and coating application systems. Strong understanding of job-site safety practices and industrial work procedures. Ability to perform measurements, material calculations, and coating coverage estimates. Experience with structural steel coating, welding support activities, fabrication yards, or facility maintenance is an asset. Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, climb ladders, work from scaffolding, and lift construction materials. Ability to work independently and as part of a construction crew while maintaining high-quality workmanship and productivity. Valid Driver's License Must be able to pass background check Preferred Qualifications Pipeline construction experience.
