Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced Commercial Sign Painter to join our dynamic manufacturing and construction team. In this role, you will bring vibrant signage to life by applying your expertise in painting, coating, and finishing techniques on a variety of commercial signage projects. Your attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and commitment to safety will ensure that each sign meets our high-quality standards and exceeds client expectations. Responsibilities Prepare fabricated signs, sign components, and structures for painting and finishing Clean, sand, mask, fill, and perform other surface preparation as required Apply primers, paints, and protective finishes using professional spray equipment Mix and prepare coatings according to manufacturer specifications Match specified colors and finishes Properly mask multi-color and finished components Paint aluminum, steel, acrylic, and other materials commonly used in commercial signage Inspect surfaces and completed finishes for quality and consistency Identify and correct paint and finish defects when necessary Maintain proper production flow through the paint department Coordinate with the Production Supervisor regarding priorities and completion schedules Maintain spray equipment, paint guns, and related tools Keep the paint booth and paint department clean, organized, and safe Follow proper procedures for handling and storing paints, solvents, and coatings Assist with general shop production when paint workload allows Requirements Professional spray painting and finishing experience Knowledge of surface preparation, primers, paints, and finishing techniques Experience operating professional spray equipment Ability to produce consistent, high-quality finishes Strong attention to detail and quality Ability to understand production drawings, color specifications, and work instructions Ability to organize work and keep multiple projects moving through the paint process Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Ability to safely lift and handle sign components and materials Dependable attendance and work habits Ability to work effectively as part of a production team Previous experience with commercial signs, automotive painting, industrial coatings, metal fabrication finishing, or custom manufacturing is highly valued. Position Details Full-time, Monday through Friday This position is best suited for someone who takes pride in producing professional-quality finishes and understands that proper preparation is just as important as the final coat.
