Job Description
Powder Coatings of Utah (PCU) is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented 2nd shift Industrial Liquid Painter / Helper to support our liquid paint operations . This position works directly with wet paints, primers, and coatings in an industrial environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, cares about quality, and wants to grow their skills in industrial finishing. Prior experience is helpful but not required — we will train the right person . Key Responsibilities Assist with surface preparation for liquid painting (cleaning, sanding, grinding, masking, degreasing) Mix, strain, and handle liquid paints, primers, and coatings per instructions Assist painters with spray application (air, airless, or HVLP as trained) Hang, rack, and stage parts before and after painting Inspect finished parts for coverage, runs, fisheyes, dry spray, and other defects Perform touch-ups and rework as directed Clean spray guns, lines, booths, and tools Follow all safety procedures , PPE requirements, and ventilation protocols Maintain a clean, organized paint area (3S / Lean standards) Assist with general shop duties as needed Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented Comfortable working with liquid paints, solvents, and cleaning chemicals Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Preferred (Not Required): Experience with industrial liquid painting or spray equipment Familiarity with solvents, reducers, and coatings Manufacturing or shop experience Forklift experience (or willingness to be trained) What We Offer Competitive hourly pay (based on experience) On-the-job training and skill development Stable, full-time work Growth opportunities within PCU Clean, organized, safety-focused shop Team culture centered on quality and continuous improvement Our Culture PCU operates with a Lean / continuous improvement mindset .
