Advex Corporation Position Summary The Painter is responsible for performing industrial blasting and coating operations in support of manufacturing and defense contract deliverables. This role ensures all surface preparation and coating applications meet applicable
MIL SPEC
requirements, customer specifications, and internal quality standards. The Painter plays a critical role in delivering durable, compliant, and high quality finishes while maintaining proper documentation, equipment functionality, and a clean and controlled work environment. Essential Responsibilities Operate and maintain commercial blast and coat booths, including setup, routine maintenance, and cleanup Perform surface preparation and coating application in accordance with MIL SPEC and customer requirements Monitor and manage consumable usage to maintain efficiency and control cost without compromising quality Achieve consistent blast profiles and coating finishes that meet both technical and aesthetic standards Interpret and apply customer specifications, drawings, and coating requirements accurately Utilize precision measurement tools to verify environmental conditions and coating thickness, including DFT gauges, psychrometers, and surface profile gauges Maintain accurate records of work performed, inspections, and equipment maintenance Ensure compliance with internal procedures related to quality, traceability, and documentation Support 5S standards by maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area Coordinate with Production and Quality teams to ensure work meets schedule and inspection requirements Identify and report equipment issues or process inconsistencies Promote adherence to workplace safety procedures and proper use of personal protective equipment Support internal and external audits related to coating processes and quality standards Assist in training or supporting junior personnel as needed Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Prior experience in industrial or marine blasting and painting Working knowledge of blast and coating equipment operation and maintenance Ability to interpret technical specifications including

requirements Experience using coating inspection and measurement tools Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to maintain accurate documentation Reliable transportation and consistent attendance Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a defense or fabrication environment NAVSEA Basic Paint Inspector certification or ability to obtain Experience performing both blasting and coating processes Prior experience supporting quality inspections or audits Experience mentoring or guiding junior team members Physical Requirements Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds Ability to stand, bend, and work in confined or enclosed spaces for extended periods Ability to wear respiratory protection and other required PPE Work Environment Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to blasting media, coatings, and industrial equipment. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, is required. Work may be performed in enclosed booth environments under controlled conditions.
