Job Description

Mechanic / Fabricator - Shop Technician CORE Powder Coating is looking for a dependable, versatile mechanic with fabrication experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, comfortable troubleshooting and repairing equipment, and capable of performing welding and fabrication work. This is a hands-on shop position. In addition to mechanic and fabrication duties, the successful candidate must be willing to cross-train and assist with abrasive blasting, industrial painting, powder coating, equipment maintenance, material handling, and general shop labor as needed. Responsibilities Diagnose, repair, and maintain shop equipment, vehicles, trailers, and machinery Perform welding, cutting, fitting, and general metal fabrication Safely operate power tools and understand their proper use and maintenance Mount and balance automotive and light-truck tires Complete preventive maintenance and identify potential equipment problems Assist with abrasive blasting, painting, powder coating, and surface preparation Load, unload, move, and organize parts and materials Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area Follow job instructions and meet production deadlines Work cooperatively with the rest of the shop team Help in other areas of production when needed Qualifications Mechanical repair and troubleshooting experience Welding and metal fabrication skills Knowledge of power tools and the ability to operate them safely and confidently Experience mounting and balancing automotive and light-truck tires Ability to safely use hand tools and other shop equipment Willingness to learn blasting, painting, powder coating, and other shop processes Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic Ability to work independently and as part of a team Comfortable working in a physically demanding industrial environment Able to lift and move heavy materials safely Valid driver's license preferred Powder coating, industrial painting, abrasive blasting, automotive, diesel, or equipment-maintenance experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to train the right person who has a strong mechanical background and a willingness to learn.
