Job Description

Job Title:
Blaster Job Description This role involves the preparation and masking of parts prior to painting. The work requires attention to detail in covering tanks and piping systems, which often feature complex angles and intricacies. The majority of the shift will be spent spraying, with breaks taken to mix coatings as necessary. Candidates should be prepared to spend several hours at a time in the painting booth. Responsibilities Prepare and mask parts prior to painting. Ensure thorough coverage of tanks and piping systems with intricate angles. Spray paint on large tanks, pipes, and parts for extended periods. Mix paint coatings as needed during breaks. Essential Skills At least 2 years of blasting experience. Minimum 1 year of experience with masking and paint preparation. Proficiency in using paint booths and industrial painting techniques. Ability to operate overhead cranes and forklifts. Additional Skills & Qualifications Capability to bend, crawl, lay, and kneel around large tanks. Experience in physically demanding tasks such as moving, climbing, and walking. Work Environment The job takes place in a small custom shop primarily serving piping companies, focusing on painting large tanks, pipes, and parts. The first shift runs from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with an overtime shift extending from 5:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The second shift operates from 2:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday, with overtime available on Sunday nights. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
