Hiring Now:
Senior Chemist - Industrial Coatings (Confidential Role) Midwest or Southeast | R D Lab-Based | Formulation I'm managing a confidential search for a Senior Chemist to join the R D team of a well-established manufacturer in the industrial coatings space. This is a hands-on formulation role, working with technologies such as epoxies, urethanes, alkyds, and acrylics to develop performance-driven products for various industrial applications. Great fit for someone who loves being in the lab and is ready to own product development from concept to testing.
What You'll Be Doing:
Designing and refining corrosion-control formulations , including solvent- and water-based systems. Running application and performance tests —UV exposure, humidity, corrosion, and weathering. Supporting scale-up and product commercialization efforts alongside a collaborative R D team. Working cross-functionally with technical service and production teams to solve customer challenges.
Ideal Background & Skills:
B.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science , or a related physical science. 2+ years of hands-on formulation experience in industrial coatings. Strong knowledge of cure chemistry , catalysis, and application processes. Familiarity with rheology, polymer chemistry, and colorimetry is a big plus.
